“Shut up and get the jab!”

If some things don’t make you lose your sense of reason, then you have none to lose.

Gotthold Ephraim Lessing

First we were told that vaccination was the only way out of the pandemic.

Unfortunately for our politicians, this seems less and less likely.

Then we were told that the vaccine would be safe even though it was rushed through to an emergency use authorisation (EUA).

This too turned out to be wrong, as often massive side effects have emerged.

Then we were supposed to think that despite the residual health risks, the vaccination would help protect against Coronavirus infection.

This too quickly turned out to be wrong.

Then we were told that vaccination would prevent us infecting others.

Also untrue.

And finally, we were told: vaccination helps prevent severe disease.

With increasing vaccination rates in the population, this is also looking more than doubtful..

(See the latest Luxembourgish statistics )

In short:

The Covid vaccines are neither safe, nor effective in protecting against infection, contagion or severe disease.

What is the vaccine good for, then?
And why should such a vaccine, which has fallen short of all predictions and promises so far, be required by law from now on — hoping against hope for a better result?
